Stay In The Press

The Lord Jesus Christ is soon to come again and He is looking for a church which is looking for Him.

“Behold I come quickly,” the Lord Jesus Christ admonishes believers to be ready when He returns in Revelation 22:7.

We should not want to just talk about heaven but want to live our lives like we really expect and want to go there. The Lord saved us for a reason. By Him allowing Himself to be born into this world, He gave us the perfect example of how to help somebody and how to live holy, so that we too could love our enemies and live lives which please our Father.

The Lord Jesus Christ shows us there is a better way. Because He promised never to leave us or forsake us, there is no reason for us to be lonely or to feel forsaken.

While the devil attempts to make us feel “unworthy” of being called a “saint” because of the issues in our past, the Word of God declares that any man in Christ is a new creature and old things are passed away.

Do not allow your past to hold you back from pressing toward the brighter future and abundant life that Christ has promised in His Word. Because of our faith in the shed Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we believe that He is our Faithful Mediator, constantly pleading to the

Father, on our behalf, to be merciful towards us, since we are covered by His Blood.

Stop letting the sins of your past and your old life embarrass or shame you. We have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb. We are not the same. When we get to know the Lord and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, it is then that the Spirit of God gives us the power over our flesh to control its naturally earthy and carnal nature.

However, as the Lord blesses us with “things,” such as a big sofa, easy chair, or flat screen television, it is important to guard against becoming complacent about our praise and our desire to assemble to worship and praise the Lord.

We are God’s children and as a part of God’s family, it is right and important to stick closely together with family to stay strong in the Lord. As our God is faithful to us, His desire is that we remain faithful to Him. Even if the person who invited you to church stops coming, you keep coming!!

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, while we should never claim to “know it all” but rather “stay in the press” by staying faithful to Bible study, prayer, loving and forgiving one another, and assembling together faithfully with other believers to worship the Lord.

No matter what our accomplishments and failures of the past may have been, we are to “forget those things that are behind and reach forth unto those things which are before…as we press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

Each day God awakens us, He gives us a fresh opportunity and another chance to live for Him, to serve Him, to help somebody as we pass through this life, determined to make heaven our home.

Let us live with the desire to “stay in the press.”
